Texas Flood is the third track on Stevie Ray Vaughan's debut album Texas Flood. Originally performed by Larry Davis, it is arguably one of Stevie Ray Vaughan's most well known and revered tracks. It's long guitar solos has been ranked as number 13 on Guitar World's "100 Best Guitar Solos" list. Although "Texas Flood" has three verses of lyrics, the song is more of a prolonged guitar solo, allowing Vaughan to show off his characteristic electric blues style. Read more on Last.fm.

Formed in 1979 with drummer Chris Layton and bassist Jackie Newhouse, Stevie Ray Vaughan fronted the band which he named Double Trouble. The band was joined in 1981 by bass player Tommy Shannon & 1985 by keyboardist Reese Wynans. Stevie Ray Vaughan tragically died on August 27, 1990 in a helicopter accident, having taken the seat that his brother Jimmie Vaughan or some have reported Eric Clapton would have been sitting in. He had a wide range of influences, most notably Lonnie Mack, Albert King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton & Jimi Hendrix.
